Rules for Room Use

Law school classroom reservations are restricted to law school use only. Reservation requests from outside the law school will be submitted to the Dean's Office for approval.

All food or beverage (including alcohol) served at meetings or events on Drake property must be catered through Sodexo Campus Services. Food and beverage can be ordered by using Sodexo's online catering service.

The service of alcoholic beverages at any meeting or event must be pre-approved by completing the Drake University form "Procedure for Seeking Approval to Serve Alocholic Beverages in an Academic/Administrative Building". The form is available in Student Services, Room 128, Cartwright Hall. The Dean's signature, as well as the Provost's signature, are required at least five work days prior to the event. All law school events or meetings that serve alcohol must be co-sponsored by the Dean's Office.

Consistent with the mission of the University to be the venue for discussions of public policy and a range of other matters, events held by student organizations in any of the three Law School building complexes are presumptively open to all Drake Law students and faculty unless the event is clearly designated as an organization's members only meeting. School student organizations do have a right to limit meetings to their membership, but the organization must in each instance make clear its intention to conduct a meeting open only to its membership.

Opperman LL19 is only available during library hours. Please double check library hours before submitting this form. Opperman Library and Legal Clinic room reservations must be made through those departments.

If you have any questions please email Student Services at law-roomreservations@drake.edu.
