Application Instructions

Applicants to Drake Law School must submit an application form accompanied by a personal statement. Applicants must also take the LSAT and subscribe to the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). Visit www.LSAC.org for more details. Letters of recommendation, while not required, are strongly encouraged. Drake Law School is a participant in the LSDAS Recommender Service.

The application priority deadline is April 1 of the year in which an applicant wishes to be considered for admission. Consideration for scholarship awards will be made on a funds available basis after this date. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. For this reason, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit application materials early. Because we do not evaluate an applicant’s file until the Office of Admission receives all the application materials, we highly recommend that applicants submit the application and make requests for supporting documents prior to the April 1 priority deadline.

Admission decisions are generally made within 4-6 weeks after an applicant’s file is complete. Late applications are considered for admission on a space-available basis; accordingly decisions on these applications may be delayed.

Separate application procedures are required of international, visiting, and transfer students.

Apply Electronically
The $50 application fee is waived for electronic applications submitted prior to April 1. Simply “request a fee waiver” during the online application process.

Some required items are not included in the electronic application. The following items must be received by the Admissions Office before your application is considered complete:
   * Your Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) report
   * Scholarship Form(s), if applicable
   * Letters of recommendation (optional, but highly encouraged)

Request a Paper Application
To request a paper application, contact the Law School Office of Admission at 1-800-44-DRAKE x2782 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, e-mail law-admit@drake.edu,  or download and print an application form.
