Jennifer Williams Zwagerman, Director of Career Development
As Director of Career Development, Jennifer is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the CDO, from student programs, resources and services to employer outreach. In addition, she is available for individual career counseling sessions with students and alumni, and she plans and presents workshops on an array of career development skills and topics.
A 2004 graduate of Drake Law School, she received her LL.M. in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas and also served for two years as a law clerk to Judge David Hansen, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. After completing her clerkship in 2007, she joined the Des Moines office of Faegre & Benson where she was an attorney in the general litigation group, with a national practice in food and agricultural law. Jennifer spent the 2010-2011 school year at Drake as the Faegre & Benson Visiting Scholar, where she worked with students and taught courses in food and agricultural law. Jennifer was an Opperman Scholar while in law school, and was also Editor-in-Chief of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law.
Carole Tillotson, Associate Director of Career Development
As Assistant Director of Career Development, Carole is responsible for managing all aspects of the Career Development Office, from student programs, resources and services to employer outreach. Carole counsels law students and alumni on all aspects of legal employment, from summer internships and part-time work during school to permanent jobs and alternative legal careers. Additionally, Carole plans and presents workshops on an array of career development skills and topics.
Prior to joining Drake Law School, Carole had a broad-based legal career in Des Moines beginning as a bond attorney with Ahlers & Cooney, P.C. More recently, she was a commercial real estate broker with CB Richard Ellis/Hubbell Commercial. She has also served as an assistant general counsel at Wells Fargo Financial, Inc., general counsel to the Iowa Finance Authority and vice president of Springsted Incorporated, a public finance advisory firm. In addition, Carole served eight years on the Windsor Heights City Council.
