Helping Others


"I became a lawyer because I wanted to help other people. When I was practicing law, I worked for a big law firm and then for a legal services program for the poor. In these and other contexts, my law degree allows me to help those around me (clients, family, friends, neighbors) to manage the legal issues that they inevitably face. Through my teaching, I hope to encourage students to become excellent at what they do and to use their special skills to assist others. Through my scholarship, I hope to continue to address issues facing the ordinary person by identifying problems I perceive in current policies and suggesting remedies. I also hope to address some of the systemic issues of our legal system, such as access to justice and the courts.
