![]() Effective Lawyering Through Good Legal WritingWriting is a big part of lawyering. A lawyer's writing often is the first impression judges and adversaries, and even clients, have of her. Good legal writing inspires confidence and gives credibility. Poor legal writing, of course, has the opposite effect. In my class, students learn to apply the cornerstones of all good writing--knowing your audience and your purpose--to legal problems. At the same time, students develop skills unique to legal writing, including legal analysis and legal advocacy. |
