The Drake Law Library is proud to present a selection of works by Edward N. McConnell  from July– September 2015.

Edward N. McConnell is a December 1986 graduate of the Drake Law School and has practiced law in Iowa since January 1987. He was an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at Drake from 1993-2004. He developed an interest in painting in the early 1990’s and, after much trial and error, now concentrates on watercolor and acrylic paintings. McConnell is basically self-taught and focuses on still life of everyday objects, buildings and (on occasion) landscapes. He works in studio from models, location photographs and imagination. His works have been included in the Iowa State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, appeared in private collections and been donated to various professional and private charitable organizations for fund raising purposes. McConnell believes that it is absolutely necessary for lawyers to have some kind of hobby to get away from the daily pressures of the practice of law. Enjoy the paintings presented.

The Drake Law Library would like to invite students, faculty and staff to display their art in the library. The library provides a showcase for rotating art exhibits in the open reading area at the top of the 2nd floor stairs. If you are an artist who’d like to share your work with the Drake Law School community, please contact Deborah Sulzbach.
