The Drake Law Library is proud to present a collection of works from Matt Storms.

Matt Storms is a Des Moines native who graduated from Grand View College in 2006 with a double major in visual arts and graphic design. He was recognized as an Emerging Iowa Artist in the Des Moines Arts Festival in 2005 and 2006. His work has been exhibited at Grand View College/University. He has had art featured at the Eclectic Gourd in Valley Junction; The Art Gallery in Clermont, Iowa; Chuck's Restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa; and also in many private collections.

Matt currently owns a record store, Red Rooster Records, in Des Moines. He was featured in the Des Moines Register on February 12, 2014 in an article written by Josh Hafner that opened with mention of Matt’s artwork, “Hand-painted visages of old rock ‘n’ roll greats grace the wall of Red Rooster Records, a shop tucked away in Des Moines’ Highland Park neighborhood. Jimmy Hendrix. Jimmy Page. Iggy Pop. Chuck Berry. They all appear, put to wall by 30-year-old Matt Storms, a vinyl aficionado with a painting degree.” If you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces in the display, please contact Matt by e-mail at

The Drake Law Library would like to invite students, faculty and staff to display their art in the library. The library provides a showcase for rotating art exhibits in the open reading area at the top of the 2nd floor stairs. If you are an artist who’d like to share your work with the Drake Law School community, please contact Deborah Sulzbach.
