Professor Peter Yu publishes piece on parodies in Hong Kong’s copyright law
Professor Peter Yu, Kern Family Chair in Intellectual Property Law at Drake University Law School, recently wrote an article for the South China Morning Post titled, “Many routes to allowing parodies within Hong Kong’s copyright law.”
Yu’s op-ed discusses a report from the Hong Kong government regarding whether parodies and satires should be exempt from liability for copyright infringement. His analysis reviews governmental concerns about compliance with World Trade Organization standards as well as what internet users in Hong Kong want to see with regard to user-generated content.
