Drake Law School has a number of computers and computer labs available to students and visitors.  A wireless network is also available to guests and students who would like to perform research or peruse the Internet from their own laptops.  Guests who need computer access should inquire at the Information Desk.

Drake's leadership in technology has been recognized with the ranking of 16th in the country on National Jurist's Technology Honor Roll.


Library and Lobby Computers

There are eight computers available for use in the first floor lobby area in Opperman Hall Law Library.
  • 2 machines for visiting patrons
  • 2 machines for KeyCite and Shepard's research
  • 4 machines for general student access

Lexis and Westlaw Training Center

The Lexis and Westlaw Training Center (Opperman 260) includes documentation and quick access to research resources.  The lab is also often staffed by a Lexis or Westlaw student representative.
  • 10 Dell workstations
  • A networked laser printer
  • Lexis and Westlaw research printers

Perkins Computer Classroom

Perkins (Opperman 261) is often used for technology lectures and other demonstrations.
  • 15 Dell workstations
  • A desktop for instructor use
  • Projector and screen
  • A networked laser printer
  • Lexis and Westlaw research printers


All Law School computers run Windows 7 Enterprise Edition with Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus.
